Sasquatch Goes Down the Rabbit Hole

Sasquatch is Anti-Social . . . But Sharing is Caring

Sasquatch has gone down the rabbit hole, figuratively and literally. We just got four New Zealand rabbits from my uncle in North Portland. I gotta say, they are cute.

The rabbits are currently living in their cages in the chicken coop. The chickens have checked out the rabbits in their cages during the day, but tonight they are skeptical about coming in and roosting along with the rabbits.

Now, if you know anything about how I plan to raise my pigs, you should have figured out that this current set up is not what I have in mind for raising rabbits. I have visions of raising free range rabbits, but that’s for a future day and time.

Currently, we’ve been letting the rabbits out of their cages and letting them run around the coop. We started out letting one out at a time and multiples out at a time. We’ve kept a careful eye on them while they’re out to make sure they don’t escape, fight with each other, or get into fights with the chickens. So far everyone has gotten along and no one has escaped. They definitely love the freedom of being able to move and dig, while having the safety of their cages to retreat to.

We’re not a hundred percent sure of what we will do with the rabbits. But if you’re interested in rabbits for meat, raw dog food, pets, or school dissection projects, please Contact Me.

Sasquatch is currently scheming up ways to turn half of the chicken coop into a cage free colony. Be sure to follow along on Facebook or YouTube to see more of what happens down the rabbit hole.
