The Creek Project – Overview and Updates
April 11, 2021 – Sasquatch Wallows is blessed to be located on a property with not one, but two year round creeks (plus numerous springs and wet weather creeks). When we first moved to the property the roads were so overgrown with briars that we couldn’t even make it down to the creeks for the first couple of months. Access to the creeks has been restored, but the undergrowth around the creeks makes their use and enjoyment frustrating.
Due to riparian timber harvesting laws, the creek bottoms have awesome older maple and cedar trees towering over the ground. The Creek Project’s goal is to the clear the underbrush, briars, and regrowth saplings to create a peaceful meadow under the canopy of the large trees. The “improved” creek bottom landscape will then be better suited to accommodate:

For those of you that are not familiar with the creek bottom in its current condition, below is a short walk through of a portion of the creek trail. You’ll see the vine maple, devil’s club, briars, and saplings that need to be cleared out.
