Clearing the Creek at Logger’s Landing

Sasquatch is Anti-Social . . . But Sharing is Caring

The heavy lifting is done at Logger’s Landing. We’ve cleared the underbrush and downed a few trees. The Creek Project progresses nicely with the first major area cleared.

Logger’s Landing is the portion of creek bottom that offshoots Ihler Creek. This side canyon leads to the ridge at the Washington County and Tillamook County Line. On the other side of the ridge are hundreds of thousands of acres of timberland, State Forest, and Brown’s Camp.

We have previously used this area for a hunting tree stand.

While the area before had been relatively clear, there were a couple thickets of briars, a decent amount of Devil’s Club, and some patches of vine maple.

It was across this creek bottom that we were able to kill the female mountain lion.

Clearing the underbrush by hand was definitely hard work. However, it wasn’t unbearable and it progressed quickly. The motivation received with the immediate feedback of seeing a dream start to take shape has made the work immensely satisfying.
