The Prodigal, Cousin Eddie, and Galt’s Gulch in Gales Creek

Sasquatch is Anti-Social . . . But Sharing is Caring

The story of Sasquatch Wallows is essentially an inverse retelling of The Parable of the Prodigal Son found in Luke 15:11-31.

Whereas the Prodigal ran towards worldly wealth and pleasure, Sasquatch ran away from a lucrative law practice and into the woods.

Whereas the Prodigal ran away from God and found himself in a pig paddock, Sasquatch jumped into a pig paddock in an attempt to find God.

Whereas the Prodigal was welcomed home by his family and friends, Sasquatch is at a crossroads . . .

The realization that the target market for your products is your family and close community is a stumbling block for Sasquatch. How do you ethically sell to those closest to you? Even Jennie has commented that there are those who simply won’t buy what I’m selling.

Cousin Eddie

Many will simply see the superficial Sasquatch as a misguided Cousin Eddie. I’m your crazy cousin that’s always begging for money to finance his crazy ideas and lifestyle. But, he’s family, and somewhat entertaining, so you throw a few bucks his way every now and again so his kids won’t starve.

But Sasquatch has no desire to take advantage of his family. He wants to provide you with a quality product. See the Sasquatch Satisfaction Guarantee

When Dagny Taggart finally finds herself in Galt’s Gulch in Ayn Rand’s epic masterpiece “Atlas Shrugged,” basic commercial exchanges between the close knit community make the fictional titan of American industry pause. Why were they exchanging gold for the use of a car or to hear a musical composition? The objectivist conclusion is self evident: individuals should pursue their endeavors and be compensated for the value provided.

Sasquatch finds faults with a purely objectivist philosophy, but the Bible agrees on this point:

For the Scripture says, “You shall not muzzle an ox when it treads out the grain,” and, “The laborer deserves his wages.”

1 Timothy 5:18
