Raising Pigs the Sasquatch Way: Letting Pigs be Pigs

Sasquatch is Anti-Social . . . But Sharing is Caring

Sasquatch has a radical theory for raising pigs: letting pigs be pigs as God intended. It’s a bold strategy Cotton . . . let’s see if it pays off.

Sasquatch is a simple minded animal. As such, it’s natural that he likes to keep things as simple as possible. So when Sasquatch set off to follow his dreams of producing the most delicious pork ever tasted, he had to develop a theory for raising pigs in the forests of Oregon.

Suddenly it dawned on Sasquatch . . . what if I just let pigs be pigs?

Pigs are native to Eurasia. They stretch from Europe to Africa to the Pacific Islands. They live in forests and forage for their food. As omnivores, God gave them the uncanny ability to take just about anything remotely edible and turn it into delicious bacon. They are extremely hearty animals and can survive in just about any conditions.

Pigs ability to survive and thrive in just about any conditions have lead to a feral swine problem in the southern United States. Obviously, Sasquatch doesn’t want to create an ecological disaster in his home forest, so he is taking precautions to ensure his Sasquatch Swine don’t turn into a feral nuisance.

The forest paddocks are fenced with electric poly-wire fencing. The pigs are smart and quickly learn that they do not like to be shocked. Once trained to the fence they will avoid it like the plague. To the point of the fencing having been off for days before and the pigs have no clue because they don’t want to test the fence.

Sasquatch is also keeping his pigs happy by providing them with shelter and delicious natural feed.

So far the only escapes we’ve had are one or two pigs being pushed through the wires. The pigs then immediately wish they were back on the other side of the electric fence.
