Akbash LGD Puppies

Perfect homestead family companions

Leia's second litter

Leia whelped ten puppies the day after my daughter's birthday saving Sasquatch from being forced to keep another puppy on the farm!

These puppies come from working livestock guardian dogs (Luke and Leia) and will be a perfect addition to your farm, homestead, or backyard.

Leia's first litter was born on Christmas Day 2022. All nine puppies are currently enjoying life with their forever families whether on the farm, homestead or in town.

Gentle Giants

While Akbash are considered a giant breed of livestock guardian dog, they are extremely friendly towards people, especially kids. These puppies have been socialized from day one with our plethora of goats, chickens, turkeys, pigs, and even kids!

Leia
luke and leia

Luke and Leia have been protecting Sasquatch Wallows from mountain lions, bears, bobcats, and coyotes for over three years. In addition to protecting the farm they are great family companions who enjoy hiking and playing with the kids.

Akbash Breed Facts

1.

History

Akbash are a livestock guardian breed originating in Turkey between 750 to 300 B.C. They are large, powerful dogs with heights of 28 to 34 inches and weights of 80 to 140 pounds.

2.

Personality

Akbash are very protective of their families and have strong guarding instincts. They're fiercely independent but love to be around their human family and are great with children.

3.

Grooming

With a thick coat, Akbash do require regular grooming. Some daily exercise is required, but these are not dogs bred to run all day; they would rather sit on a hillside watching their flock.

Looking for Loving Homes

We are more concerned with finding loving homes for our puppies than making money. However, we do need to recover our costs. As such, we are asking for a $500 re-homing fee for the puppies.
