Sasquatch is Anti-Social . . . But Sharing is Caring

Welcome to Sasquatch Wallows!

My name is Kevin and I invite you to follow along on what I view as the next step in my life journey and walk with God. Most people will simply call this a mid-life crisis. To that I say:

A little background. Like all toxically masculine little boys, I wanted to be a cowboy / rancher when I grew up. But, “real life” came along and destroyed those dreams. I went to college and double majored in Philosophy and Political Science with a minor in Environmental Studies. What do you do with a college degree with those majors . . . law school of course! So I became a lawyer and have been practicing law for the past 10 years.

But, I don’t like being a lawyer and I don’t think that is God’s plan for my life. My childhood dreams have evolved over the past two decades through what I have learned and where God has placed me to create a new vision for my life.

Let me explain: I want to be a pig farmer and do it naturally as God intended by stewarding God’s creation, not trying to be God through genetic modification, antibiotics, growth hormones, factory farm CAFOs B.S. . . .

This will be accomplished by creating a perennial food forest in the regrowth timber of the beautiful forests of the Pacific Northwest. The pigs will be rotated through the forests to balance their needs with the needs of the food plots and regrowth timber. The goal will be to create a natural sustainable food forest that not only produces the best natural pork available but stewards the forest for future selective harvesting of timber.

Unlike many of today’s younger generations, I’m a pro-market capitalist. As such, my goal will be to sell my hogs for top dollar to the highest bidder whether that be online directly to consumers, through contract work for restaurants, butchers, and custom meat packers, or at the livestock auctions.

Along the way I’ll be espousing my philosophy and theology of life on the blog, Swineherd Philosophy.

And unlike Bill S. Preston, I actually am an Esquire.

Finally, this should be highly entertaining for everyone. I’m a lawyer with no background in farming that wants to raise pigs in the forests of the Pacific Northwest. I knew and was determined to become a pig farmer when my first pig, Bacon, sh*t diarrhea in my face on the third day I had her.

So be sure to follow us on social media to make sure you don’t miss any of the ensuing buffoonery.
