Warrior is the name I have given my weaner pig that was attacked a week and a half ago by the male mountain lion. During the attack he suffered a severe leg laceration.
I kept an eye on him and he was eating, drinking, walking on his leg, and integrated normally with the herd.
But yesterday he wandered from the herd and ended up in the backyard; not once, but twice. We placed him in the lean-to with the chickens so we could keep a closer eye on him. Unfortunately, when we returned from CC today, he had taken a severe turn for the worse.
I got some antibiotics in him and want to give them time to work, but I doubt he will be alive in the morning.
As I took a minute away from the lean-to, I strolled towards the sun that was setting over the Coast Range. I prayed for God’s will to be done for Warrior.
This farm is built on prayers. Most of the time I don’t even know what to ask for, so I simply ask for the strength to take the next step on this walk with God.
In the backyard, where only briars were weeks before, new peas were growing where the pigs had cleared the briars.
Prayer answered. Hallelujah!
If the Lord’s will aligns with my prayers, then later this summer this plot of dirt will transform into a lawn where families will gather to spend a day wallowing on the farm reconnecting with family, friends, and God. We will enjoy shenanigans and sign praises, for our edification and to give glory to God.
